In-depth
While Philip uses solution-oriented and cognitive behavioural approaches to help others deal with their issues, he also believes in encouraging and guiding his clients towards a purposeful life.
Philip Ang’s Bachelor of Social Science in Applied Psychology is from the Western Sydney University. Philip then went on to earn his Master of Science in Psychology from California Southern University, and has bolstered his credentials as a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, certified Autogenic Training Practitioner, and a certified Tobacco Cessation Specialist.
He has also received advanced level training in Ericksonian Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, and is a licensed administrator in NCCQ couple’s inventory. Philip believes in engaging people from the heart before the mind, and he loves to incorporate experiential components in his training, coaching and counseling sessions.
Philip is also an author who published “Youthful Peak-Experiences in Cross Culture Perspective: Implications for Educators and Counselors” in 2008, and had the privilege of working with his former psychology professor Edward Hoffman, Ph.D., in the gathering of research data for this book.
Philip is currently in a blissful marriage with his wife and two school-going children. To Philip, parenting and marriage are a sacred responsibility, borne of his commitment to the Christian faith. He enjoys the journey of being a father in the co-raising of his children with his wife.
Philip’s guiding philosophy in life is rooted in “learning to keep the main thing the main thing”, which he passionately applies to his own life as well as his profession.
