Profile

Dr Tan Sheng Neng graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia and obtained his postgraduate psychiatry qualification in 2011. He was appointed as the Director of the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service (2017-2019) at Changi General Hospital (CGH), Singapore. He was also an Assistant Director (Psych) of the Integrated Sleep Service at CGH (SingHealth Duke-NUS Sleep Centre) where he helped develop into a department in 2018.

Besides his clinical work, Dr Tan was an active researcher. His main research interest was on the enhancement of mental health of patients with chronic illnesses. Dr Tan was awarded the National Research Foundation – MOH Healthcare Research Scholarship and obtained the Master of Clinical Investigation from the University of Singapore.

He was also awarded the Best SingHealth Doctors Award in 2008 and 2009.

Dr Tan Sheng Neng graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia and obtained his postgraduate psychiatry qualification in 2011. Dr Tan has a specialised interest in neuropsychiatry where he treated patients with Sleep Disorders, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Behavioural Psychological Symptoms of Dementia, and Brain trauma or injury, particularly from strokes. At CGH, he was also involved in developing mental health programmes that enhance the psychological well-being of medical patients. He was a co-author to 1) Guidelines on The Practice of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Treatment of Major Depressive Disorder, and 2) Guidelines on The Practice of Electroconvulsive Therapy published by The College of Psychiatrists, Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2018.
