Profile

Dr CHAN Kay Fei graduated from NUS in 1985 and after completing National Service and general medical rotations started specialist training in Rehabilitation Medicine in 1992.

Dr Chan worked in Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s (TTSH) Rehabilitation Centre for 24 years and was Head of Department for 8 years. In TTSH, he led the development of Centre for Advanced Rehabilitation Therapeutics (CART), in which Rehabilitation Robotics and other “high tech” platforms are matched with skilled expertise to promote improved outcomes for
our patients.

While in TTSH, Dr Chan also led the TTSH Pain Taskforce to improve pain management services institutionally with a special interest in Chronic Pain and Rehabilitation. Was also Program Development lead in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Trauma Rehabilitation.

Dr Chan was a Clinical Fellow in Baylor College of Medicine’s Texas Institute of Rehabilitation and Research in 1995/96 and had a training attachment to Emory Spine Centre in Atlanta Georgia, USA.

He has a depth of experience in areas of Rehabilitation Medicine and Rehabilitative Care of Older Persons from tertiary hospital settings to community and to homes. He is used to working with teams to develop programs suitable for each patients’ needs, incorporating patient-centric technologies when helpful. He also have extensive networks and good understanding of the Rehabilitation ecosystems.

5) Was CEO of Orange Valley Nursing Homes between 2016 to 2018.

In his free time, he likes to swim, scout for good makan in Singapore, lead in Chinese worship in church and learn Hebrew (the fun way).
