Upon graduation from the University of Melbourne on a Colombo Plan Scholarship, Ms Pang joined the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) and Woodbridge Hospital. She was then awarded a fellowship to do her postgraduate studies in clinical psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London (1991-1993). Having served on various administrative and professional committees within and outside of the hospital, Ms Pang was designated Deputy Head of the Department of Psychology in 1997. She was also awarded with a National Day Efficiency Medal in 1999

She transferred to the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports as Head of the Psychological Services Unit (PSU) in Dec 2000. The Unit served the clients within the Rehabilitation, Protection and Residential Services Division as well as clients from other divisions within the Ministry and affiliated Voluntary Welfare Organisations.

From May 2006 to April 2008, she returned to IMH as Head, Allied Health and Principal Psychologist in the Community Addictions Management Programme. Since May 2008, she commenced her private practice (initially with Raffles Counselling Centre, Raffles Hospital and now with Winslow Clinic, Promises Healthcare) as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and as Visiting Consultant Psychologist with MCYS.

Married with three children, Ms Pang has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the mental health and social service sectors. She continues to be involved in the wider community of psychologists within the civil service and other agencies. Her areas of interest include women's mental health issues, affective disorders (especially depression), anxiety disorders, addiction, parenting and family issues, psychological reactions in disasters and trauma and offending behaviours.
